The ASU Plant Manager oversees all site operations, including safety, team management, quality control, personnel training and development, equipment maintenance, and budget management. The duties include 24/7/365 responsibility with additional after-hours support from other ASU plants within the region.
The successful candidate will:
- Ensure that safety is a core value for all team members by promoting a safe work environment and safe work practices through leading by example.
- Lead and manage plant staff, including training, development, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Foster relationships between UIG teammates, various Nucor teammates, and customers.
- Oversee daily operations to meet production goals and optimize efficiency.
- Manage maintenance schedules and ensure equipment reliability.
- Responsible for managing the plant’s operating budget.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
We are seeking applications from candidates who have experience in industrial gas or chemical plant operations, including ASU plant supervisory experience. You will have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills as well as knowledge of safety regulations and operational best practices.
Ideally you will have experience with various software systems used at an ASU and a general understanding of and experience with instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
We are especially interested in candidates who have previous experience working independently to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with process and plant equipment. Also anyone with an understanding of general accounting techniques would be beneficial. .
